WAREED is the first of its scale healthcare improvement initiative in the UAE spearheaded by the Ministry of Health aimed at revolutionizing the quality, safety and efficiency of public healthcare delivery through a fully integrated digital healthcare system.

The three years initiative, will impact 14 public hospitals and 68 affiliate clinics across six emirates in the UAE, as the goal is to create a centralized platform for managing patient information and automating the full spectrum of public healthcare services at par with international best practices.

Managed by Hybrid Health Solutions, the project will be implemented in phases by a consortium of internationally renowned healthcare technology providers led by iCapital.

The HIS system provided by Cerner Corporation will link and automate all healthcare processes across radiology, pathology, pharmacy, surgery, emergency and registration departments.

The system will be hosted centrally at the new high end data center facility of Injazat Data Systems in Abu Dhabi, and will connect all hospitals through an advanced high speed network infrastructure implemented by GBM. WAREED also encompasses the modernization of computer equipment and office applications across all the medical facilities involved in the project, provision of centralized help desks manned by professional support staff, and the launch of a new web portal to provide a gateway for electronic services to the public, patients, physicians and staff members.

WAREED is the first and largest initiative of its kind in the Middle East.
